The Love of God

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you." (Joh 15:13-14, NKJV).

The love of Jesus is the only eternal constant you can trust on in this changing world. After the above love-verse 13, the moment we hear the word 'command' in verse 14, in our natural mind it does not fit in to the theme of friendship . But in context to verse 12, the command is a not a burdensome one as people think it is. This is the only command given to us in the New Testament to fullfill. It is a command for us to respond positively to His love by letting it out to flow in to the lives of other people. Stored water stagnates and becomes deteriorated easily, but flowing water stays fresh. This is why, if we are really His friends we will be intimate with Him daily and as a result of it keep fullfilling His command to love Him and love one another as He has loved us.

When you love others with your whole heart, you are in fact showing to Jesus that you love Him sincerely (Matt 25:40).
