My Prayer For You!

It is in loving others unconditionally, we become blessed to be a blessings.

Unselfish motives are the true test of Christian love.

We are not to love others for reward, but we should love because God first loved us even when we were enemies to him.

The Bible says, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Rom 5:8).

When we love others expecting something from them, our motives are tainted with coveteousness of the hidden kind. This is not love at all. The purest love of all is the unconditional, selfless and undying everlasting love that loves expecting nothing in return. This is the God-kind of LOVE.

Saint Francis of Assisi captured this concept of unselfish motives better than anyone I know. Just read the poem that has come out of the depth of his selfless heart attitude,

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
where there is hatred let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

May our good Lord help us all to live His life on earth as His children's and GLORIFY HIM in all things!
