Godly Set Apart for God
God has revealed His word to us so that we can all live a godly life of GRACE and GLORY.
Godliness doesn't mean perfection, but it is the way of life lived on earth according to God's original design which pleases God. We learn God's original purpose and design for all humans living this life on earth through HIS WORD. Apostle Paul the theologian who was inspired to write nearly one third of the total New Testament Bible said, " 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Tim 3:16-17). We are equipped in godliness increasingly as we read, hear, talk and obey the word progressively more and more.
Some times godliness really hurts us while God trains us in it and at the same time we see the wicked ungodly people prosper in their pursuits. Then we say to God, "12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who are always at ease; they increase in riches. 13 Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence. 14 For all day long I have been plagued, and chastened every morning." (Psa 73:12-14). But this question painfully bothers us always until we enter in to the Presence of God, where the reality of God's favor, guidance, answered prayer and God's eternal reward ahead of us becomes as sure as the rising of the sun on the east daily morning (73:16-17). There we also realize the slippery places, destruction, desolation and the consummation of the ungodly in terrors of God at the end (73:18-19). There in the midst of God's reaffirming Presence we realise the foolishness of our thinking and then we declare to God with with a shout of Joy, " 22 I was so foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before You. 23 Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. 24 You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory." (73:22-24).
O what a privilege to be guided with God's wonderful counsel of victory and then afterwards to be received in to glory as a result of it. Surely we grow in to God's knowledge from "glory to glory" (2 Cor 3:18). Take heart Saints, The Lord has surely set us apart to let Himself hear when ever we call and cry to Him in desperation as His very own child. The Lord will surely answer you the next time you face problems and cry to Him for an answer in HIS PRESENCE!
