The Beauty of God's Ox Anointing

I was quickened by the Holy Spirit about the beauty of the 'OX ANOINTING' that many do not understand.

Psalm 92 is a liturgical anthem celebrating the destruction of evil and the triumph and happiness of God's faithful children. The psalm was inspired by the poet's communion with the Creator on the Sabbath day and his observation of God's power in nature.

But there is deeper truth of an OX ANOINTING hidden as a nugget in its midst. The Psalmist says in Psalm 92:9-11, "v9 For behold, Your enemies, O Lord, For behold, Your enemies shall perish; All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. v10 But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil. v11 My eye also has seen my desire on my enemies; My ears hear my desire on the wicked Who rise up against me."

In the preceding verse 9 the psalmist sings to God about His mighty power through which God's enemies who are the rebellious demonic angels and its power right from the pit of hell will be made to deteriorate and the workers of inquity through which all these evil demons actually act against us to be scattered and be made poweless before us.

Then suddenly in verse 10 the psalmist speaks about his horn being exalted like a wild ox. Here horn speaks about the power and authority that is with a person residentially inside him, which is also used to destroy or make the enemy be fearful and flee whenever it rises up against the authority and power that the believer holds. This shows that praise always precedes anointed victories for all beleivers. In other words, PRAISE is the POWER OF HEAVEN. The secret to using the power of God against the enemy is revealed in the second part of the verse 10. The Psalmist says, "I have been anointed with fresh oil". What does it mean? It means once we are spending our time in the presence of God for any particular problems we are facing by praising Him and thanking Him for His power over the enemy by faith, God suddenly releases a "Fresh Oil" of great strength and authority equal to that of an wild ox. Once we receive this anointing, all the demonic enemies of God in the spiritual realm will become powerless and will start to flee before us because of this powerful anointing and the words of authority that we speak against them commanding them in JESUS NAME (James 4:7). In other words, OX ANOINTING is God rising out of us and destroying our enemies before our very eyes and ears (Psa 68:1). Much increase in our spiritual, soulish, physical, financial and social areas of our life can only come to us by the strength of the OX ANOINTING of God coming upon us as a gift for being in-touch with God always (Prov 14:4). The strength of an ox increases and get released from its muscles only as it charges in against its enemies face to face, in the same way only as we move our spiritual muscles by faith against our spiritual enemies of demonic strongholds in our mind, they start to flee against us or will face death [i.e. become powerless and be bound by us in JESUS NAME] (1 John 5:4; 1 Peter 5:8-9; James 4:7).

Once the powerful enemies he faced fled away in a moment of time because of this OX ANOINTING, then the psalmist praises the Lord in verse 11 for HIS OX ANOINTING upon him which made his eyes and ears to experientially see the defeat of all the enemies. The enemies whom the psalmist saw before as an oppressive force can no more be seen in vicinity. This also reveals to us, whom we consider as enemies are not only our enemies but they become God's enemies as we are His children. In the spiritual arena, all the demons and devils that attack us and brings the curse of God in to our lives are not just our enemies but God's enemies too. We should learn to praise God for the victory that is ours already in Christ before we face the enemy of our Soul and also after the enemy has been defeated as a sign of our gratefulness to God (Col 2:15). Praise the Lord!
