Giving Vs Receiving

Getting gratifies, but sharing satisfies.

"....And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' " (Act 20:35, NKJV).

Remember when you receive something, at the most you can only show a human gratitude to the person who gives by being thankful verbally and in your actions. But when you give something, you are showing the God-ness in you to the one who receives from you.

"God so loved the world that He gave His Only Beloved Son......." (John 3:16). God gave His only begotten Son and as a result of it "...has begotten us [all] again to a living hope [of eternal bliss] through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead " (1 Pet 1:3). In other words, by giving His most prized possession of His Son, God has been blessed to produce more sons through His only Begotten Son. Praise the Lord!

When we go to God we receive and receive and receive that is all we can do, when God comes to us he gives and gives and gives that is all he can do. To receive is human, but to give is divine.

Every time we ask God for-giveness, he says for-given. In other words, God says for-giveness is given for you to for-give others. This is why the Bible says, "... even as Christ forgave you [of all your past, present and future sins], so you also must do [to others when they complain against you for no reason]." (Col 3:13). The greatest thing that God has given for us humans is "forgiveness".

The Law of God Written Within

Study Shows Babies Know the Difference between Good and Evil at Six Months

by David Derbyshire,

The London Mail

NEW HAVEN, CT - At the age of six months babies can barely sit up - let along take their first tottering steps, crawl or talk.

But, according to psychologists, they have already developed a sense of moral code - and can tell the difference between good and evil.

An astonishing series of experiments is challenging the views of many psychologists and social scientists that human beings are born as 'blank slates' - and that our morality is shaped by our parents and experiences.

Instead, they suggest that the difference between good and bad may be hardwired into the brain at birth.

In one experiment involving puppets, babies aged six months old showed a strong preference to 'good' helpful characters - and rejected unhelpful, 'naughty' ones.

Working for God

No matter who your boss is, you are really working for God.

"22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything. Don't do it just to please them when they are watching you. Obey them with an honest heart. Do it out of respect for the Lord. 23 Work at everything you do with all your heart. Work as if you were working for the Lord, not for human masters. 24 Work because you know that you will finally receive as a reward what the Lord wants you to have. You are serving the Lord Christ." (Col 3:22-24, NIrV).

This above verse shows that as much as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers work for God and receive a reward, equally those who work for various corporations, businesses, educational institutions, etc also work for the Lord and will receive a reward for their service. In other words, you are placed as a christian in a secular environment so that you can be a witness, testimony and a great example of the life of God working within you. This will attract others to follow Jesus and live like you do. If you are living like this, sure the reward for you is already being added up on your account in heaven by our Lord Jesus Himself. As much as a minister of the word of God serves Christ, you who work in the market places also equally serve Christ and both have rewards according to the faithful continuance of their work till death do us part from the planet earth. Praise the Lord!

God's Cover Letter

To Whom It May Concern:

I heard you were considering a new manager in your life. I would like to apply for the job. I believe I am the most qualified candidate. I am the only one that has even done this job successfully.

If this is your first time considering me, I would just like to point out that my salary has already been paid by the blood of my son, Jesus on the cross of Calvary. What I need from you is the acknowledgment that the price is sufficient to pay for all of your sin and your independence from Me. I need you to believe this in your heart and to tell somebody else about your decision with your mouth.

The next thing I ask is the right to change and fix your life so you can learn how to stay close to Me. I will make some major changes and revisions. They are not for you to worry about. I need your permission to execute these changes, My way and in My time. I will change your desires and give you the strength to make the changes.

Please keep your hands out of the way. Don't try to help me and don't resist me. I really do need your full commitment and cooperation. If you give me those, the process can go smoothly, without delays.
Yours Sincerely,
GOD

The Love of God

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you." (Joh 15:13-14, NKJV).

The love of Jesus is the only eternal constant you can trust on in this changing world. After the above love-verse 13, the moment we hear the word 'command' in verse 14, in our natural mind it does not fit in to the theme of friendship . But in context to verse 12, the command is a not a burdensome one as people think it is. This is the only command given to us in the New Testament to fullfill. It is a command for us to respond positively to His love by letting it out to flow in to the lives of other people. Stored water stagnates and becomes deteriorated easily, but flowing water stays fresh. This is why, if we are really His friends we will be intimate with Him daily and as a result of it keep fullfilling His command to love Him and love one another as He has loved us.

When you love others with your whole heart, you are in fact showing to Jesus that you love Him sincerely (Matt 25:40).

What is in your heart makes who you are

What we say reveals who we are.

"...For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart." (Mat 12:34-35, NLT).

So keep storing up the good treasure of the word of God inside your heart daily, and as a good godly person produce good things and God things from the golden treasury of your heart for the glory of God (Ps 119:11).

Carrot, Egg or Coffee Bean?

You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed that as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a boil. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She then pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.

Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see?"

"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.

She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma.

The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, Mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity -- boiling water -- but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?"

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity? Do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor of your life. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate to another level?

How do you handle adversity? Are you changed by your surroundings or do you bring life, flavor, to them?

ARE YOU A CARROT, AN EGG, OR A COFFEE BEAN?

Be Happy!

A father was approached by his small son who told him proudly, 'I know what the Bible means!'

His father smiled and replied, 'What do you mean, you 'know' what the Bible means?

The son replied, 'I do know!'

'Okay,' said his father. 'What does the Bible mean?'

'That's easy, Daddy...' the young boy replied excitedly,' It stands for 'Basic Information Before Leaving Earth.'

When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note 'I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket I'll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation.'
